The solo break for On Green Dolphin Street and the subsequent solo are wild. I've heard a fair amount of Albert's music, but always in it's own context, not placed in a small band bop context. The result is very interesting.

Fav track on Sammystown. Bought it new when it came out more out of curiosity on who they could possibly replace Stan with. Was immediately ok with their choice ;-) Sure Andy doesn't have that Stan twangy Arizona desert highway tumbleweed voice but I still love it. I still own that copy today in 2023 and it is still one of my fav albums. I appreciate it being underrated. Makes it just that much more special.

As great as Albin's arrangments were, it was always Alzbeth's amazing vocal range that made this band special for me. But I realise that one couldn't suceed without the other. After all, one of the greatest acts of that time and deserve much more appreciation.

i got this years ago and was thrilled with it. i didn't know the 7th disc was his last known recording. i'll have to go back and listen t specifically to it. i wish he had lived longer. i wish more people knew who he was.

I'll never forget finding this album on cassette at a thrift store with my best college buddy (who introduced me to so much good 80s new wave and synthpop), I pretty much wore that tape out listening to it over and over. This song in particular really stuck with me. The odd romanticism of "we'll wander through the bones alone" is so unique and charming and so very WoV.

Brilliant as they always were. It's time travelling at dusk, amongst a forest of gargoyles, but it's irresistible to follow the procession. There's only one Alzbeth in this world. A.J.M, , R.i.F.

I hope these recordings get remasters, reissues, bandcamp, all that. They are really cool recordings, no matter how primitive. Gothic music included a lot of medieval symbolism, but this band seems to have stepped out of the psychedelic genre directly into medieval times.
